Book Snarf Chapters!

What?

If a book club and a potluck were to have a baby, it would be called a Book Snarf Chapter. B.S.Chapters are a make-and-take community reading and eating club. Members read a book of their choosing. Then they make and take a dish inspired by that book to their local BS meeting. Once the herd has arrived, everyone gives a brief book report, and pigs out with other Book Snarfs. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezey.

Where?

A park? A high-rise? A duplex? A garden? A trailhead? A bookstore... If the location welcomes food, books, and people, then you've found a great meeting place.

When?

Some chapters will meet weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, or even annually. Choose a frequency that works best for your group.

How?

Who?

Friends! Family! Neighbors! Acquaintances! Colleagues! Chapter members might range in age, gender, religion, race, height, hair color, or pet preference. Every member is unique, but BS chapter members do have one thing in common: they love food, books, and gathering.

Want in on the action? Follow these simple steps to form a BS Chapter.

  1. Invite other Book Snarfs in your area for a planning meeting.

  2. Pick a BS boss, and a backup who will oversee chapter logistics for the foreseeable future; things like the member log, meeting reminders, and the "book bites records" (aka, the list of the books and the food featured in the meeting book reports.)

  3. Decide how often you want to meet, and where. Will you gather in the mornings or at night? Will you meet weekly or just during an equinox or solstice? Do you want to rotate hosting, or meet at the same location every time? Decisions, Decisions.

  4. Name your chapter! A winning formula is = BS + Your City + A Razzle Dazzle

For Example, “BS Tucson Enchiladas”….. Boom! It's just too good!

  5. Register your chapter by emailing: info@Booksnarf.com. This will keep your group in the loop for any BS events, new content, and even prizes. Make sure to include the name of the BS boss and backup, their email addresses, and the chapter name

  6. Hold your first BS Chapter meeting. Everyone shares their book! Everyone shares their treat! Everyone has a great time! Everyone leaves with one or two books they want to read (or avoid:~) and a recipe they might want to try. Rinse and repeat. Welcome to the club.
